In the Upholstery Department, our products gain their final appearance, combining sewn covers from the sewing department with bonded components from the gluing department. Our 20-year history encompasses a wide range of items for customers, providing us with valuable experience passed down from older generations of employees to the younger ones.

With careful supervision by our foremen, we ensure that every product is of high quality and meets the standards expected by our customers. We constantly follow industry trends, and as an example, we have integrated thermal ovens into our upholstery processes. These ovens allow us to create products that stand out for their perfect appearance and meet the demands of leading global customers.

Process in the Upholstery Department

In the Upholstery Department, a special process of gluing and heating upholstered chair parts takes place in thermal ovens to bond materials such as leather or fabric to the foam.

Preparation of Components for the Upholstery Process

In the Upholstery Department, sewn covers and bonded parts follow pre-determined production plans. After gathering these components, they are carefully distributed to the upholsterers’ stations according to those plans.

For items requiring the thermo-bonding process, we apply thermo adhesive to the sewn covers and bonded components to ensure a strong bond and a perfect appearance of the product.

Process of Upholstery and Thermo Bonding

After the items are distributed to the upholsterers, the upholstery process begins. Productivity in the upholstery department varies according to production demands, but on average, we upholster around 1600 chairs per day.

In cases where items require thermo bonding, they are transported to thermal ovens after the gluing process. In these ovens, the items remain until the thermo adhesive is fully activated. After that, they pass through specially designed presses to maintain the proper shape and ensure a strong bond. This procedure ensures that our products are perfectly highlighted where needed and that the upholstery has no wrinkles or folds.

Inspection, Packaging, and Labeling of Finished Products

After the upholstery process is completed, each item undergoes a thorough inspection to identify any defects or irregularities. Additionally, a final cleaning of all items is conducted.

The items are carefully packaged to prevent damage during transport. At the request of customers, we offer an additional service of packaging finished products so that the boxes remain sealed until they reach the end customer.

Labeling is done for each order, with barcodes containing SSCC codes, work orders, and customers’ catalog numbers. This allows customers to easily receive the products into their warehouse, both physically and digitally, thus speeding up further logistics.

My role involves overseeing all upholstery supervisors, ensuring effective work organization, and managing resources to achieve optimal results in chair upholstery. I also strive to introduce innovations and improve processes to stay ahead of the competition.
